Mini Portfolio

The beauty of photography is taking something ordinary and making it extraordinary. Capturing light never produces the same result twice, which makes light photography the ultimate medium for abstract art.  It is amazing how the passing by of traffic on the highway, the spinning of a disco ball, or even a simple landscape can become something else entirely.

  1. I find this series visually stimulating; I also find myself staring and trying to make something of every photo. The color choices are great and all the pictures compliment each other very well.

  2. The photos you have picked to include in your portfolio have strong use of line and movement. My favorite of them all is the second from the top, it reminds me of veins.Even though they are abstract pieces each of them has a very interesting composition. If I were to make any changes I might do a little more editing on the first photo, for some reason it doesnt feel as strong compositionally as the others. I like that some of them are very crisp while others are more distorted.

  3. This series of photographs is truly amazing. The use of lines and lights are extraordinary. The pictures all go really well together. The last picture is one of my favorites because of the lines leading out.

  4. I love the color in these photos. It really brings out a dimension to the images that makes them seem almost painterly. My favorite is the fourth image, it looks like the rings of a planet. I like how they are distorted so you can't tell where you are when you're taking these. In my opinion the last image doesn't seem to fit 100% with the series just because it takes away from the abstractness you've created in the other images.

  5. This series is really cool. It holds the viewers attention really well. The bright lights against the dark background work together great. Some pictures are hard to tell what they are but I think that makes it even more interesting. My favorite one is definitely the first one even though I'd like it even better if the lights stood out a bit more, I feel like they're kind of washed out a little from the sky.

  6. Amazing! Very abstract! The last picture in this row is my most favorite of them all. The way the light is being reflected off the pavement makes it mysterious and very eye catching. Another interesting effect in these photos is the texture that is going on with the motion of light, some look like dashed lines while the others look very smooth.

  7. The last picture is my favorite as well. My least favorite is number 3. I feel like it is missing some sort of shape within the composition.

You may have already but I would be curious to see what you could do with these kinds of shapes reflected on water.

It would be really cool to see this in a gallery setup. Nice work!
